Hey Everyone!!! San Antonio is getting ready again. We are going to have a fantastic camp this year. Take a look at the book "Mission Trip Prep" as a way to prepare the hearts of your youth. We are going to do a Taco Tuesday (breakfast tacos - hey this is San Antonio) prayer morning for the 10 weeks prior to camp. Just an idea you adults may find helpful. Come to San Antonio!!! Shane

Hi Steve, I just wanted to let you know that my Great Aunt passed away this morning. She suffered a massive heart attack back in August and has battled many health problems since then. Over the weekend her kidney's began to fail. She's a wonderful woman and will be missed greatly. I will be in Winter Park on Friday of this week until Tuesday to be with family and attend calling hours and the funeral. Thank you for your prayers. Kate Deasy

372 December 14, 2007 at 12:03 AM EST As I sit here still stunned with a totally broken heart - I share this sad news with all of you - tonight on George's way home from work he was killed in an auto accident. Please keep all of us in your prayers. Obviously this will be a hard time - especially since his Birthday is 12/20 and our anniversary is 12/28 - not to mention Christmas and Lauren's birthday 1/11 . I am at a loss of words - totally heartbroken. Tomorrow morning we will share the news with the girls. Please pray for strength for me and the girls. Good Night, Heather Garger (active leader in the CHWC family for 15 years and co-manger of Atlanta camp)

For this summers christmas card this year, we decided to pass along a $20.00 bill with a card and insturctions to pass it along. Here are some feedback of how folks have used this money. God is good!............ Just 5 minutes after opening your Christmas card with the $20 bill inside, my kindergarten teacher came to me and said that, for various reasons, she was planning to pay for her classroom Christmas party out of her own pocket. It seemed the perfect use for the $20 bill. Thank you so much. It will make the children’s Christmas party much merrier. May the Lord Jesus bless you and your families during this season of Christ’s birth. Sr. Julie Glaeser Our Lady of Perpetual Help School Kenner, LA

I would like to give a shout out to Steve and Michele -it meant the world to me having you both at George's funeral. He love CHWC all aspects of it. To everyone who has sent us messages, cards, and support through the girl's college fund - THANK YOU. Obviously, I am still in shock but realize we will be ok. As long as our children are happy and provided for - which I know God will provide - I will be ok. Thank you for support. Still planning on going to Jackson! Love Heather Garger

Dear Mrs. Lisa Walker, I am writing to thank you for everything you do. Catholic Heart Work Camp has been an amazing experience for me! If it was not for CHWC I can promise you I would not be as close to God as I am today. Not only has each trip helped me grow stronger in my faith but they have also helped me be more outgoing and not as shy. I now love sharing my faith with others anyway I can. My name is Amanda Quail I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 18 years old and a freshman in college. I am the oldest of four kids and last summer my brother (15), sister (17) and I all got to go on the same trip together, it was one of my favorites for that reason. My youngest sister (14) can not wait till she is old enough to go with our parish. I have been to four different cities with CHWC in the past four years. Each trip has been just as amazing as the others, everything from the people in my groups, to the residents and the staff members is just full of love and faith! You are doing a great job with everything and I just wanted to let you know it. I would guess you hear from people quite often telling you how life changing the trips are and how much they bring people closer to god. I just had to tell you my self!! I am so extremely disappointed that St. Louis, MO in 2007 was my last trip as a camper. This idea makes me pray that maybe one day when I'm old enough, I will be able to be a staff member. I just dream of the day I can share my faith and help other teens grow in their own faith as a CHWC staff member. Just understand that day could not come soon enough. I am still helping with different retreats and with my parish youth group as much as I can but being a staff member is my dream! I want to thank you and your husband and all the people for making it possable for teens to grow stronger in their faith while changing the world. You all are such amazing people, may God bless you in all that you do! God Bless, Amanda Quail
