Omaha, NE sits on the bank of the
Missouri River. We are the home of the College World
Series and our Henry Doorly Zoo is one of the top 10 in the
world. Omaha is the home of Father Flannagan's Girls and
Boys Town, is the Headquarters of the Union Pacific
Railroad and Mutual of Omaha. In the 50's, Omaha was the
Livestock Capital of the World and many ethic groups settled
in the South Omaha area where the packing houses and
stockyards were located. Today, some of those same
families who worked in the packing houses still own those
homes and are quite elderly and need the help and support of
CHWC. |
