Saginaw, is located in the center of Mid-Michigan on the Saginaw River, 90 miles north of Detroit.   Saginaw was once a bustling lumber town. Today, it has a population of 58,361. The area of the present City of Saginaw was inhabited by woodland Native American Indians prior to settlement by those of European ancestry. The Saginaw region includes an extensive network of many rivers and streams which converge into the Saginaw River.
