Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island State Parks

Sharing an entrance and a parking lot, these two parks are just a few hundred yards from one another. However, whereas Honeymoon Island is right where you park, Caladesi Island is off the coast across Hurricane Pass and is accessible only by boat or ferry. One of Florida's few undeveloped barrier islands, 600-acre Caladesi Island has a beach on the gulf side, mangroves on the bay side, and a self-guided nature trail winding through the island's interior.

Sand Key County Park

South of Clearwater, this park with its wide swath of powder-soft sand and gentle surf has often been voted one of the nation's top beaches.
