BAB-EE - Oh my gosh, chwc was awesome this summer! I had so
much fun and I thought it was so cool how people came all
the way from
Minnesota to be at heart work camp. It was
great and I met so many new people who I'm looking
forward
to keeping in touch with. I can't wait until next year! :]
Love to all xoxo -Briana :D
I had the Best Week Ever!!!!!!
Louisville
was so much fun. I am definitely coming for the next a
million years, or how ever long i can come!!!!! One reason i
think all the time and money paid off is b/c of an "A-ha
God" moment i had. When i got home, the first person to call
me was a friend of mine whose been an osm friend since
eighth
grade. She called to say that she had just gotten back from
a church camp, also, and how she was now REALLY excited that
i was transferring to her school. She had had a sort of
revelation about the ppl she had previously been hanging out
with. Let's just say it was defiantly the wrong crowd. Her
revelation was to not hang out with these ppl anymore and
that with me going to her school now, it would easier for
her to avoid them and stuff. I asked which night this
revelation occurred, and it was the same night of our four
corners at CHWC. I was bawling b/c i hadn't really talked
about it in 4ever and i was just real scared for her future
if she kept hanging' with these ppl. so to make this long
story a little shorter, she has now seen the light and will
not be hanging with the same depressing ppl and i hope that
with more of God's help she will keep going forward towards
more of God's grace and a brighter outlook.

I was sweaty, hot, sticky, painted
on, scratched, and bruised. But I would do it all again and
more than estatic to do it. This was the best experience
that I have ever had at camp before. Catholic Heart Workcamp
has made me learn so much about myself and others. We had
fun but you also set a time for transition. It was great!!
CHWC has inspired me so much. I want to go to CHWC every
single year! And hopefully, when I get older, a leader.
Thank you so so so much! I'm truely blessed to have come to
this camp and meet all of these wonderful people! The staff
was phenomenal and the talks changed my life. God has lead
me to CHWC for a reason and I'm extreamely thankful!

Bless, Emily McMullen
Just had a great experience with
the best kept secret in Catholic Youth Ministry...Catholic
Heart Workcamp that operates out of FL...Steve & Lisa
Walker, who were youth ministers in Pittsburgh, moved to FL
& wanted to experience a workcamp for Catholic Youth, that
they saw so many of the big Evangelical Churches have. They
started with 100 campers in
Orlando & now are in 35 cities across the
nation.

I attended CHWC this past summer
with 5 kids from St Coleman and had an unbelievable
experience. I consider myself extremely organized and stream
lined and found myself evaluating your program and couldn't
come up with any area where I could think of improvements. I
was incredibly impressed at not only your set up but your
committment and dedication. I would like to promote the
program to our entire school and parish and am expecting a
large turn Also, I just realized that the school is having
an open house this Wed night and I would like to talk about
CHWC and be able to hand out brochures. Can I get someone to
fed ex them to me? I will pay the fed ex charge. I just
think its a good opportunity to speak since I should have
most of the parents attending. My plan then is to promote
CHWC through the bulletin offering a meeting date to get
information. At that meeting I plan to hand out brochures
again, as well as show your video (is there a new one I
should be showing, or should I use the one you sent me last
year?) I will also have the girls that went last year speak
to the group about their experience. Any other suggestions
on how I should be doing this?

As a youth minister with about 20+
youth from our parish that will be attending the
Charlotte
camp this summer we are getting excited about the
opportunities in which we will be able to serve God and also
have some fun while we are there. We as a parish have been
privileged to attend the
Mobile,
New Orleans, and
Denver
sites in past years and have had great but unique
experiences at each of the sites. My best advice to each of
the campers is to Participate- not Anticipate!! God will
bless you richly for giving the gift of yourself to others
in service this summer.

I had a blast at camp this year. I
can't wait until I am able to do it again. It really was the
BEST WEEK EVER!! I hope everyone had as much fun as i did. I
felt great that i was able to have fun and be able to help
people at the same time. I also had the opportunity to make
some really great friendships that will hopefully last.
Can'y wait til next year's camp but in the meantime i will
continue to serve the Lord!

was the best week EVER! And a huge thank you to everybody
who made it that way for me! Group 38, you guys, well,
girls, really gave me a great week out there working on
Grandma Bea's place. Thank you Emily, excuse me, I mean Baby
Girl, for all of the energy you shared and the excitement
you showed. Lulu, thanks for always putting a smile on my
face, even when the heat really got to me, and I felt
terrible. Patty, thank you for all the discussions we had,
and for listening to me go on and on about some things.
Katherine, thanks for always giving me a hand with whatever
I needed help with, whether it was more paint, moving a
ladder, or pointing out places I couldn't see well. Ms.
Robin, thank you so much for all the support you gave me, by
listening and talking, by your encouragement and
compliments, and by your, well, love. I will never forget
what you told me Thursday night. Ms. Kathy, thanks for being
the motivator and plan maker of the group, and for pushing me
to work more than I felt like I could at times. An
incredible thanks go out to the staff, for your energy,
love, concern, work, sweat (HOLY SWEAT, that is), and time.
You guys convinced me (and not to play favorites, but
specifically Kristi, Gordy, Jon and Vinnie) that I want to
join your ranks next summer, and the summer after that, and
the summer after that......

I just left our Neighborhood Association
meeting tonight and Catholic HEART Workcamp was the focal
point of the evening. You have no way of knowing how you all
touched so many people's lives. Some of the homes that you
worked on belonged to people that had been filled with
despair. One resident said she hadn't thought about religion
in a long time. You changed that for her! That is a real BIG
Deal!!! You made a incredible difference throughout our
entire neighborhood. You gave people a reason to hope again.
You planted seeds that will continue to nurture and grow. We
were so proud to meet each of you and to share the Patio
with you at lunchtime. You are all truly a inspiration. I
can't thank you enough for your hard work. For those of you
that may have caught Poison Ivy, I'm so sorry!!! I hope the
itches are gone! Team Leaders and Troubleshooters, what can
I say, you are all my CHAMPIONS! God Bless and watch over
you each and every one of you.
