St. Lucia – April 2015

Monday!

We all have arrived safely, after a long day of travel! After unpacking, we enjoyed a meal cooked by one of our St. Lucian staff members, Noella. Not long after we enjoyed mass at a local chapel on the same grounds as our housing. We are excited to get started on our day of work tomorrow as we will build two houses this week! God is Good! Prayers to all back home.

Tuesday!

After some fun, brief rules, and a blessing of the hands this morning, we are off and running! We have some campers spending time with the elderly folks on the grounds, and we have made initial headway on the 2 homes we are building! We will be working on the grounds we are staying at and then transfer the homes to the empty lots tomorrow. We look forward to celebrating mass on the beach tonight! Prayers to all!

Wednesday!

Houses are coming together nicely! two days of work down already! We had half of our group building homes today, and the other half playing sports and doing arts and crafts at a local retreat center with kids who were on spring break. Free day to see the Pitons tomorrow! We can’t wait!

Thursday!

Absolutely beautiful day in St. Lucia today, and we are very thankful, as we got to see the Pitons at their best. We enjoyed the day at sugar beach, as well as a hot tub of mineral water that flows from a waterfall, and of course we had to get some shopping in!

Friday!

Another amazing day of work! Both houses are nearly complete. All the teams have been working extremely hard, some even staying late to finish. After work we enjoyed the beach and then had a night of prayer back at the Marian home. Everyone was very playful as we had adoration, confession, and prayed the rosary. Stay tuned for our last day of work tomorrow!

Amazing last and final day! Both houses finished!! and with time to spare, with our extra time, we were able to visit with the elderly at the Marian home, paint an entire block wall, and restore a basketball court. Once done for the day, we had an extremely fun BBQ on the beach, with our St. Lucian friends along with a bonfire. God is good. what an awesome trip! thank you everyone!

We hope everyone had an amazing time and you have arrived home safely, please click the link below for the video from the week!
