Media Assistant

 

Assist the Media Manager in any way needed such as the following:

 

Set up before Camp starts.

  • Unpack U-Haul

  • Organize mixer, lights, video projector and other equipment

  • Set up lights and sound system; (mixer, laptop, CD player) on a couple of tables next to and near the stage.       

  • Set up microphones and change batteries in them when needed

  • Set up light trees and light board

  • Set up projector

  • Tape down all wires to and from the stage

  • Oversee construction of stage banners, projection screen and all other items used on stage

  • Make sure there is enough chairs in program area to accommodate the campers

  • Charge camera batteries

Morning and Evening program:

  • Clean up and pick-up trash in the program area

  • Straighten chairs for morning and evening program

  • Find someone to take video of morning and evening program activities with video camera.  Get 1-2 minutes of video footage of each event, skit, speaker, share prayer, music, and activity at each program.  Want more pictures of campers than staff.

  • Run lights for morning and evening program.

Packing up for Next Camp: 

  • Pack up mixer and any other sound equipment/lights

  • Oversee take down of signs and projection screen on stage

  • Pack up all video/camera equipment in proper containers

  • Make sure auditorium is left spotless

  • Take batteries out of all microphones

  • Take down lights and light tree and pack them away carefully

Oversee taking pictures and video at worksites and morning/evening program 

  • Each morning: Organize and map out photographers (2 staff people and if possible associate staff) going to worksites with digital cameras and video cameras.

  • Each day: Take video of morning and evening program activities with video camera.

  • Drive with someone (associate staff or staff person) to take pictures/video at worksites

  • Both pictures (for slide show) and video are needed to be taken at each worksite.  Remind everyone to take close up pictures of faces

  • Make sure everybody gets on camera at least once during the week

  • Collect digital pictures from photographers when they return from work sites and give them to Media Manager to put into Media Shout program for evening program.

  • LABEL ALL TAPES

  • Charge all camera and walkie-talkie batteries

  • Assist Media Manager at end of week with editing of summary video
