Tool Supply Manager  

 

Day before camp begins

  • Help un-load U-Haul

  • Take all Tools to tool supply room

  • Lay down tarp or blankets underneath tools, so to not damage the floor

  • Organize tools, by grouping all like tools together

  • Throw away any damaged or unusable tools

  • Make numbers for each team and arrange them on the floor

  • Using the work orders, make a pile of tools for each team on the team number

  • If any team needs a tool that you don’t have, you must go to local hardware store and buy that tool before the first workday

Orientation day

  • Finish up in morning:

  • Make numbers for each team and arrange them on the floor with tools and supplies needed for their work project

  • Be prepared to give talk on safety, painting tips and the session on tool-supply manager

Before campers leave for Worksites on first work day

  • Be in tool room before morning program ends

  • Hand out tools and ladders when the teams come to get them

  • Help teams attach ladders to vans

  • Make sure tools and supplies are distributed for each team with their team name # on them

During the Day

  • Be available to drive tools/supplies/ladders out to site as needed by teams

  • Travel to worksites that requested a trouble shooter or shared a problem which needed the attention of someone from Workcamp to see

  • Travel to worksites to see how groups are doing

  • Travel to worksites to give encouragement to participants at worksites

  • Be back at the school at 2:00 & be prepared to take each teams work report/supply request form

  • Question groups on the progress of the house

  • Towards the end of the week make sure all houses get done

  • As groups finish move them on to sites that need help

  • Make a list of all tools and supplies needed for the next workday

  • Check over list of requested supplies/tools with manager and Walkers (if not sure on whether it should be purchased or not.  We do not always grant every request)

  • Oversee and manage Team Leaders at 6:00 in cleaning up of cafeteria.  Have rags and buckets of water available.  Make up a poster board with list of team leaders and which night they are to clean up.  Post this near cafeteria area. Check in team leaders and the ones which do not show up, give to announcement person, so that he/she can read off the tram numbers that did not show up.  These people will need to come the following day to help and prepare lunches.  These folks will need to wipe off tables, empty trash cans, sweep under floor.

EMPTY TRASH CANS IN PROGRAM AREA AND IN OTHER AREAS YOU SEE TRASH OVERFLOWING.  THE SIGN OF A TRUE SERVANT IS ONE THAT WILL EMPTY TRASH CANS WITHOUT BEING ASKED!

 

At Night

  • Using the list, give each team the tools they need, with their team # on it

  • Purchase tools and supplies requested on work report and supply request form at Home Depot or local hardware store.  See Team Captain or Walkers for check.

  • Make sure all the teams have what they need before the workday

  • Place supplies/tools purchased & distributed for team pick-up in tool room for the next morning with their team # on it

Final work day

  • Be available in tool room to accept the teams returning their supplies and tools

  • Organize and clean up tools that are returned and group all like tools together

Packing up and moving to next camp

  • Throw all damaged tools away and do not pack them up and bring them to the next camp

  • Pack all tools up in their assigned containers

  • Sweep of the tarps and fold them neatly up

  • Make sure tool room is left spotless

  • Help load up the U-Haul
