Founded in 1946 by the Congregation of Holy Cross of Notre Dame, King’s College in Wilkes-Barre offers a small, faith-centered liberal arts education in an urban setting. Serving around 2,300 students across nearly 50 acres, the college prides itself on personalized academic support, a mission rooted in Catholic values, and standout offerings like its AACSB-accredited business school and a variety of community service initiatives.

  • Pricing: $550 (additional cost reflects on-campus meals, accommodations/dorms, and limited capacity.)
  • Sleeping Arrangements: Leave your air mattress at home! College dorms: 2 to a room
    • Personal Bed Linens: We kindly request that each participant bring their own bed linens & pillow. This includes sheets, pillowcases, and any additional bedding you may require.
  • Showers: College dorm showers, individual stalls.
    • This allows us to not have any required shower times.
  • Air-conditioning: Yes, throughout
  • Meals: Standard lunch provided by CHWC, hot breakfast & dinner by King’s College

  • 🎢 Knoebels Amusement Resort (≈1 hour) – Free-admission park with coasters, rides, Crystal Pool, and award-winning food. It has a classic small-town amusement park vibe that’s easy on the budget and fun for groups of all sizes.

  • 🎡 Hersheypark (≈2 hours) – Major theme park with 70+ rides, water park, and zoo. A full-day destination where students can go from roller coasters to animal exhibits to a sweet treat in Chocolate Town.

  • 🌊 Camelbeach Outdoor Waterpark (≈1 hour) – Pennsylvania’s largest outdoor waterpark with 37+ slides and wave pools. It’s a great way to cool off in the summer and keep the energy high with tons of water attractions.

  • 🏝️ Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark (≈1 hour) – Huge year-round indoor waterpark with slides, wave pool, and lazy river. Perfect backup if the weather turns, since the entire place is tropical and climate-controlled.

  • 📸 “Welcome to Scranton” Sign (Steamtown Mall) – Iconic The Office opening-credits photo spot. Quick, fun, and perfect for snapping group pictures that teens will recognize instantly.

  • 🦞 Cooper’s Seafood House (Scranton) – Pirate-themed restaurant tied to The Office, fun group meal stop. The quirky décor and huge menu make it a memorable sit-down outing.

  • 🏎️ Pocono Go-Karts & Play Park (≈20 min from Scranton) – Go-karts, bumper boats, and mini golf for high-energy fun. It’s a compact spot packed with adrenaline and laughs, great for groups that want a more casual afternoon.

  • 🚂 Steamtown National Historic Site & Trolley Museum (Scranton) – Historic trains and trolley rides in downtown Scranton. A mix of history and hands-on experiences that’s unique to the area and different from the typical theme park.

  • 🌲 Ricketts Glen State Park (≈1 hour) – Famous waterfall trail with 20+ waterfalls. The hiking is more adventurous, but the views and photo ops are stunning and leave a lasting impression.
