Questions and Answers

Am I going to get a refund?
Our goal is to repay everyone who is seeking a refund in one of two ways.  The first option is you can use your deposit (all money paid) for a future camp (such as 2021) and the second is, as we become profitable (hopefully in the next year or two), we intend to repay all outstanding refund requests. Please note that if you still are requesting a refund it will not include your $100 deposit, but that $100 will show up as part of your credit for future use by your group. If you are interested in a credit, please check out the information below.

COVID Payment Plan
For 2021, we will not require any deposits or payments until March 1, 2021. This should provide ample time for your group to determine how to proceed in light of COVID-19.

Why is the camp I registered for in 2020 not on the 2021 camp list?
We made numerous changes to help reduce our costs so we can repay refunds as soon as possible.  One of those changes was to reduce the number of camps we offer. It was an extremely difficult task to decide which locations we will not be able to serve in this upcoming summer. Along with a lot of prayer, many other factors have gone into these decisions, such as the number of campers requesting to return to a particular city, the cost of facilities, scheduling/availability, maximum capacity, COVID-19 restrictions, driving distance for the parishes to camp, work projects, community needs, etc.  For those of you whose 2020 location is no longer an option on the schedule, or if your 2020 location has been moved to a different week, we apologize.

Do I have to pay a deposit when I register?
No – For 2021, we will not require any deposits or payments until March 1, 2021. This should provide ample time to determine how to proceed in light of COVID-19.

What if I want to go to the same camp in 2021 as I registered for in 2020?
You may still choose this option even if your camp has been moved to a different week. Should you select this option, you will have until November 12th to secure your spots. Exact details on how to do so will be emailed to you upon completion of the registration option form (see below).

NOTE – EVEN IF YOU PLAN TO GO TO THE SAME CAMP IN 2021, YOU MUST REGISTER AGAIN THIS YEAR.

What if my camp is no longer available or I choose to go to a different camp?
This registration will open on November 13th at 11am EST and be available until November 19th. It will be a similar process as last year (with improvements to ensure the site does not crash). We will send out exact details/instructions closer to registration. Please fill out the registration option form.

What if I don’t fall into either of the two previous categories?
Registration for the general public/any youth groups that did not sign up in 2020 will be on November 20, 2020.

How will my credits work?
All money paid by your group will now be reflected in your account as a credit. The credit will last forever and if you only use a portion of it, the balance will remain available for future use.  In order to apply your credit, visit your account and then select the “Credits” tab. Once there, you will see a code for your credit and the total amount of your credit. Simply copy the code and paste it in the credit code box when you register.

Payments and Policies
For 2021, we will not require any deposits or payments until March 1, 2021. This should provide ample time to determine how to proceed in light of COVID-19. After March 1, 2021, if you choose to drop or camp is canceled for any reason, all money received by CHWC on your behalf will appear as a credit for future camps and will not be eligible for a refund.

Additionally, if your camp from 2020 is no longer on the schedule or if it is moved to a different week that no longer works for you, we would like to guarantee your choice of camp in the future by offering you an early registration for 2022, (or any year in the future, should you not be attending next summer).

What COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place at camp?
We know camp is going to look different in 2021, and the specific details will continue to be developed between now and when camp begins.  These precautions will include:  Campers/staff will not be able to participate if any COVID 19 symptoms were present within the past 14 days prior to their arrival at camp.  There will be daily temperature checks for campers and staff.  Local procedures and protocols from the local city will be followed.  Work projects will be predominately outdoors.  Extra sanitizing stations will be set up around the facilities.  All common areas will be cleaned before and after use.  Cleaning disinfectants and sanitizers will be provided.  Strategic social distancing will be used to limit face-to-face contact.  Masks will be required in all public places, including program and worksites.  Facilities are being asked to provide more classrooms for sleeping accommodations.

What if I register for camp and for some reason it doesn’t occur, or my group decides not to go?
For 2021, we will not require any deposits or payments until March 1, 2021. This should provide ample time to determine how to proceed in light of COVID-19. After March 1, 2021, if you choose to drop or camp is canceled for any reason, all money received by CHWC on your behalf will appear as a credit for future camps and will not be eligible for a refund.
